Correspondences Soundwalk Collective & Patti Smith

The exhibition, organized in collaboration with Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain, is dedicated to Correspondences, a multidisciplinary project born from the encounter between Patti Smith—American singer-songwriter and poet—and Soundwalk Collective—an international experimental sound art collective. Sound is the generative core of this project, which starts with Soundwalk Collective's field recordings in the world’s remotest places, uncovering traces of past and current histories of the world we are living in. The recordings are shared with Patti Smith, giving her new landscapes to channel her poetic vision. This dialogue results in the production of immersive audiovisual installation, combining sound video and words as well as graphic and other mixed-media works.
